John Adams popped into the studio this week, and wow were we caught in awe! The young maths tutor turned pop star has reinvented himself since 2011, when we were first introduced to him. Adams auditioned for the television show Xfactor with Damien Rice’s ‘Cannonball’ and managed to seduce the audience into bringing the song back into the charts at a higher ranking than the original! And that is chart history! Since then, Adams has really been working on his music. In 2014, his album reached No. 7 in the iTunes singer/songwriter charts and received a 5 star rating.
John, the singer/songwriter/busker knows that the music industry is not an easy feat. Luckily his exposure from the fore-mentioned television show gave him airtime on the radio, and from that he secured a publishing deal with ‘Music Wales’ who distributed his album to all major supermarkets around Wales… but he knows that there is no rest for the wicked and keeps working to achieve his dreams. One of his most recent tracks has been selected for a Publishing deal in America, entitled ‘The Pavement is my stage’.
Adams has a sensitive, heart-warming voice akin to ‘Passenger with a hint of James Blunt’, which you can hear on the most recent Cornerstone Sessions, here’s the link if you want to click and see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGmv0l1CAdo, he’s definitely worth a watch. He has been gigging around the UK for the last 3 years steadily gaining a dedicated fan base. But that’s not suprising considering he has supported household names such as cheeky chappy Olly Murs, Take That, Little Mix, Alexandra Burke, Union J, fellow Welsh goddess Katherine Jenkins to name but a few.
This guy is certainly one to watch, and The Cornerstone Sessions are proud to say that he performed with us on his route to fame. So don’t miss out! Check him out. www.cornerstonesessions.com is where it’s at.
